People Places, Inc. has believed since its beginning, that children should be raised in families whenever it is safe to do so. Our intensive In-Home Services Program extends the options which can be offered to families to keep or return children home with supportive services.
People Places' Medicaid-reimbursable In-Home Services are based upon the belief that families can, through intervention, learn to nurture their children, improve their functioning, and gain support within their community to enable the family to remain safely together. The goal of the program is to protect children through the enhancement of family organization, sills, and capabilities.
The Intensive In-Home Services Program is an intensive, time-limited, home-based intervention that offers families in crisis the alternative to remain safely together, averting the out-of-home placement of children whenever possible. Children, male or female, age birth to 21 may receive Intensive In-Home Services. Services will be provided typically, but no solely, in the home of a child or adolescent who is at risk of being moved into an out-of-home placement.
Intensive In-Home Services may also be used to facilitate treatment for a child who has transitioned home from an out-of-home placement when services more intensive than outpatient clinic care are required for the transition to be successful. The child and responsible parent or guardian must be available and must agree to participate in the program.
Our Intensive In-Home Program combines skill-based interventions with maximum flexibility and support so that services are available to children and families according to their unique needs.
Services may include but are not limited to:
