Text Box: John & Kisha are an African-American couple who reside at Lake Monticello with their sons, Jay, 8, and Juwan, 6. John is a Lieutenant- Director of Training at the Charlottesville Albemarle Regional Jail while Kisha is a registered nurse at Chippenham Hospital. Kisha works 2 shifts a week. As a family they enjoy playing sports, going out to eat, going to movies and spending time with friends and family. John coaches his son's Little League football and baseball teams while Kisha is the team mother. They attend Mount Zion First African Baptist Church. They look forward to working with children between the ages of 4-9 for a long-term placement and older children for short term placements. Sally is a single Caucasian female who resides in Albemarle County in the Mill Creek Subdivision. She is a school teacher in Louisa County who teaches Spanish and English as a Second Language. She enjoys reading, hiking, camping and community activism. She attends church at the Quaker Meeting House. She looks forward to working with school age children on a short and long term basis.

Jack & Sue recently moved from California and now reside at Lake Monticello in Fluvanna County.  Jack works at the Lake in the maintenance shop while Sue runs her own candy business – “Red Rocker Candy” - from their home. Jack and Sue enjoy cooking, attending fairs, playing golf, traveling and spending time with friends and family. They look forward to adopting children under the age of 13.

Tiffaney is a single African American female who resides in Gordonsville with her 14 year old daughter, Tiedra. She works for Artisan Construction. She is a pianist for local churches and sings in the Evergreen Bibleway Church choir and other community events. Tiffaney and her daughter enjoy shopping, going out to eat, attending school events and participating in church activities. Tiffaney hopes to work with a female child under the age of 8 for long term placement and will work with older females for shorter term placement. Tiffaney is certified as a Foster to Adopt Teaching Parent.

Text Box: Erin & Feta live in Staunton with their daughters, Mallory, age 7 and Surina, age 10 months. Both work at VSDB and are fluent lip readers and signers. Erin teaches and Feta – whose degree is in Information Technology – currently is a dorm counselor. The family enjoys bike riding, watching movies and playing games together. Both Erin and Feta have hearing deficits. They are interested initially in providing respite care and in the future may consider an adoptive placement of a hearing impaired child.

Autumn, a single Caucasian parent with a 14 year-old daughter, works as Kitchen Manager at Western State Hospital. As a parent, Autumn believes in communicating clear expectations and being fair and consistent with consequences. She sees affection as a healing force and hopes to provide a child with safety, security and stability. Autumn expects to work hard to help a child with special needs and to keep what is best for the child her primary focus. She will consider girls of any age and

Gail & Eddie are an African-American couple with three adolescent children and one toddler godchild in their home. Both have strong experience with children and youth. Eddie is employed at Whisper Ridge and coaches youth athletics. Gail is a day care provider. The couple has cared for children from the Fresh Air Program and is closely involved in their children’s extracurricular activities.  They believe in providing children with structure, a regular routine and a sense of security. Gail and Eddie try to be sensitive to children’s feelings and help them build a positive self-image. They simply like having fun with children.
